Alex Spiegel is a partner with the Windmill Development Group, managing the Toronto office, and a Senior Consultant with Urban Equation. An architect with 40 years of experience in design and development, he is strongly committed to a high standard of design and sustainability.
Current work with Windmill includes projects in Toronto (Arch Lofts adaptive re-use, The Plant mixed use) as well as the community scale project, Baker District, in partnership with the City of Guelph (library, college, residential, public park). In his consulting role with Urban Equation, he also works as sustainability advisor and project manager to other developers, asset managers, faith groups and social enterprises.
Previously, as Director of Development with Context Development, he directed a number of innovative residential and mixed-use projects in Toronto including: Kensington Market Lofts, District Lofts, Ideal Condominiums, Mozo, Home, Radio City, Spire, Tip Top Lofts and The Loretto. Prior to Context he developed a number of commercial projects, both retail and office, with General Leaseholds Limited.
He serves on the Friends of the Greenline Advisory Panel, ULI Mentorship program and was previously on the board of the Annex Residents Association.
Jeff Chan is Senior Analyst, Responsible Investing at CI Investments Inc. As the firm’s ESG subject matter expert, he is responsible for working with CI’s portfolio management teams to integrate ESG factors into the investment decision-making process and to identify material ESG risks and opportunities across portfolios. In his role, Jeff also contributes to the overall advancement of responsible investment at CI, including through product development and briefing company leadership on industry trends. In addition, Jeff holds dual responsibility for advancing corporate responsibility at CI Financial, the parent company of CI Investments. Prior to his role at CI, Jeff held positions with the Advisory Services Group at Sustainalytics and the Corporate Sustainability Group at RBC. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from McMaster University and a Master of Science in Sustainability Management from the University of Toronto. Jeff is fluent in French
Jackie Daitchman is Vice President of ESG Client Coverage with MSCI. After five years as an analyst on the MSCI ESG research team, Jackie is now responsible for helping Canadian asset owner and asset manager clients integrate MSCI ESG Research into their investment decision-making processes. Previously, as a leader in consumer and market research, Jackie conducted client training seminars and was a regular speaker at events concerning social and environmental issues such as forced labour and climate change. Prior to joining MSCI, Jackie worked in corporate social responsibility, with a focus on the agricultural and mining industries in Latin America and West Africa. She is fluent in Spanish and French and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of South Carolina and Master of Applied Environmental Science and Management degree from Ryerson University.
Hyewon Kong, Associate Portfolio Manager at AGF Investments Inc.
Hyewon Kong manages AGF Global Sustainable Growth Equity strategy wholly focussed on investing in solutions to sustainability challenges to create both financial return and positive environmental and social impact. Hyewon sits on the ESG Committee and provides strategic advice to develop and implement Responsible Investment policy at AGF Investments. She is a member of the Investment Committee of The Atmospheric Fund overseeing management of its endowment and mandate-related investments and serves on the Environmental Finance Advisory Committee at the University of Toronto. Hyewon is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Toronto CFA society and has co-founded and co-chairs the Toronto Responsible Investment Working Group.

Margaret Childe is a Director, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Research and Integration, at Manulife Asset Management. She is responsible for working collaboratively and proactively with Manulife AM’s Canada-based investment teams on ESG integration, identifying and managing ESG risks and opportunities for Canadian portfolios. Margaret also works on global ESG integration projects and methodologies for ESG product development, and represents Manulife AM’s ESG capabilities among the local investment community.

Walter Viguiliouk is a Principal on the Responsible Investing Team at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where he leads engagements with publicly traded companies. He also helps develop the organization’s engagement and responsible investing strategies. Previously, Walter was an Associate Portfolio Manager at Jarislowsky Fraser Global Investment Management, where he focused on fundamental equity research, institutional portfolio management, and helped develop the U.S. and international institutional clients strategy. He also played a key role in founding the firms Sustainable Investing Committee. Prior to that, he was as an Investment Analyst at the office of the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI), where he worked on developing proprietary models for assessing investor risk profiles and portfolio suitability.
Walter has completed board governance training at the Institute for Governance of Private and Public Organizations (IGOPP) and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), and is part of the First Cohort globally to earn the SASB Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) Credential.
